Explore the Scenic Trails at Ramsey Park
Ramsey Park has miles of concrete trails & numerous bridges available for you to explore. Maps are posted along the trails throughout the park to help you decide if you just want to make a short loop or if you want to explore farther throughout the whole park to see key landmarks.
Start Your Adventure Anywhere!
Choose to start your adventure at the west end near the Redwood County Museum, the east end near the zoo, the Trailhead Overlook behind the ELCA, or several other destinations throughout the park.
Enjoy a Variety of Trails & Views
You will notice that many of the trails cross the Redwood River or Ramsey Creek at various points. There are multiple pedestrian bridges, with the historic Swayback Bridge & Suspension Bridge providing wonderful views & photo spots along your hike. You’ll also be amazed at how far you can see from some of the scenic overlooks within Ramsey Park. Be on the lookout for wildlife as it can be common to see deer, squirrels, or wild turkeys near the trails as well.
You will also find an unpaved nature trail loop right along the river that has signs to highlight some of the wildlife & vegetation found throughout the park.
Please note that motorized vehicles and pedal bikes are not authorized on trails within Ramsey Park. Dogs are allowed on leashes & are commonly seen as companions for hikers throughout the park. While many of the trails are stroller-friendly, some of the trails do have steep hills or multiple steps & meander through the wooded areas. The shade can help make the trails comfortable even on hot days. We recommend planning ahead, referencing the maps, bringing bug spray, staying hydrated, & wearing appropriate footwear.

If you are looking for a unique hiking event, check out the Celebrate Redwood Falls NightFalls event in the spring. During this time, the trails are lined with thousands of colorful lights which makes a fun evening hike.
